The Wet Spot was created in 2007 when its founder, Ryvita Von Cheese, wanted to see high quality, established burlesque and cabaret performers in Leeds, but couldn’t find a night to tickle her fancy.
From humble beginnings in a room upstairs at the Adelphi The Wet Spot grew, moving to bigger and better venues until finally finding its home at The Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen in 2014.
Ryvita decided to hang up her producer hat and tassels at the end of 2018 and The Wet Spot flame was passed to two of the shows regular acts Anna Fur Laxis and Scarlett Daggers, both experienced performers and producers in their own right.
The Wet Spot will continue to honour the values Ryvita Von Cheese instilled from the beginning, aiming to bring the very best burlesque and cabaret stars to Leeds and provide a fun, relaxed and above all wildly entertaining night for its audience.
